Who's who
Mrs Hancock is the class teacher in year 2 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs Wiggall is our Assistant Head Teacher and teaches in year 2 on a Thursday and Friday. Miss Hughes, Miss Peters and Mrs Chandler are the support staff who work in key stage 1 and support the children with their learning.
Important information
PE and Forest School
- PE day will be on a TUESDAY and FRIDAY. Children should have their PE kit in school in a NAMED PE bag. During the colder months, your child is allowed to bring a black/navy jumper or hoody to wear. Alternatively, they can wear their school jumper. Long black/navy bottoms are also suggested for the colder months. Please ensure that it is all named clearly.
- Forest school will be on a FRIDAY after half term in AUTUMN 2. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn outside and practise fundamental skills. A forest school letter with more information will be sent out nearer the time.
Homework
These are the expectations for homework this term:
- Reading daily for 15 minutes. There are birds to colour in for each time your child reads at home. When they have filled in all the birds, they will get to choose a reward that they will receive at the end of every half term. Children are encouraged to read their entire book at least 3 times, first time to familiarise and decode, second time to develop fluency and expression, third time to apply all the skills and for enjoyment. If on longer chapter books, then this does not apply.
- Numbots – This is going to be introduced shortly, with more information to come. It is recommended that they play for short bursts so we would ask you to give them at least 3 minutes, four five times a week.
