School Meals
Our hot meals are freshly prepared and cooked in our kitchen at Great Oldbury Primary Academy by staff from Caterlink.
A large hall provides a space for children to enjoy healthy food with their friends.
Meals are charged at the rate of £2.53 a day and can be paid for using Arbor only. Meal choices are made at home where parents can support their child(ren) in choosing an option they want.
There is a choice of four menu options daily including a healthy packed lunch. These menus roll on a three-weekly rota. From time to time, Caterlink offer special themed menus which will be shared with parents in advance. Alternative to Caterlink's meals, a healthy packed lunch can be brought in from home. We ask that children do not bring fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate to school. We are a healthy school and promote a balanced diet for all our pupils.

Free school meals
Currently, under the Government's Universal Free School Meals offer, infant children (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) are entitled to a free lunch. This Universal Free School Meal is different to qualifying for free school meals through the Pupil Premium Grant. Families receiving income based support or Universal Credit can qualify for free school meals throughout all age groups. See our Pupil Premium page for more information.
Allergies
If your child has a food allergy or intolerance please let us know at the School Office where we will ask you to complete a Health Care Plan alongside Miss Garrett (Our lead first aider).
In addition to this, you will also need to complete the application form for a special diet for your child. Please note it may take up to 5 days from receipt of the form by Caterlink for a special menu to be available for your child.
Please be aware that if you have notified us of a food allergy or intolerance but NOT completed the form to arrange for an allergy-free menu for your child, Caterlink will only be able to offer a plain jacket potato until they receive a completed form from you.
Packed Lunches from home
Alternatively, a healthy packed lunch can be bought in from home. We ask that children do not bring fizzy drinks, sweets or chocolate to school. We are a healthy school and we promote a balanced diet for all of our pupils. We are a nut free school, please do not pack anything containing nuts in lunch boxes.
